My Educational Background

I graduated from UNL in May of 1992.  I was a non-traditional student and decided to finish up my teaching degree after staying home with my sons for several years as they grew up.

My first teaching job was at Belmont, and I taught there for ten years.  I enjoyed the diversity, the staff, and students there immensely.  I decided to change to sixth grade because of the 6-8 middle school concept that took place during the spring and summer of 2002.  I love teaching sixth graders!  The staff here at Pound is incredible and fun to teach with each day!

Personally....

I love teaching.  It is a very fulfilling job and always exciting.  My other interests include sign language, writing, and genealogy.  I share sign language with my students in class from time to time.  I also have been very involved in scoring for the State Writing Assessment.  I have spent many hours over the summer months discovering my family history, and it has been a wonderful journey.
