Welcome to Mrs. Fujan's Website
Notes:
Wow! We are already to 2nd quarter! We have learned so much in 2nd grade already and there's so much more to learn! Please keep in mind that it is cold and flu season. Have your children wash their hands frequently and cover their mouth when they cough or sneeze. If your child will be absent for several days, please feel free to call or email me to get his/her work to do while recooperating at home.
Field trip: Our field trip to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha was fabulous! It was a beautiful day to be outside! Each group saw slightly different things. Mrs. Fujan's room saw the butterfly pavillion, the aquarium, the jungle, the gorilla complex, and the desert. All the students did a great job listening to directions and learning new things about the animals.
Take a moment to read through the "2nd Grade Curriculum" page. This will give you vital information about what your child is doing at school. I try to update it every "theme" or every quarter, whichever comes first. It gives you ideas of stories to read at home, math concepts to discuss and practice, and science and social studies topics you can think about with your child. If there is something outdated that you'd like to see updated, please send me a quick reminder.
I am exited to be teaching second grade again for the 2009-2010 school year. If your child is in my room this year, has been in my room, or you just have a question in general, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Have a safe and happy fall and winter season!
A little about Mrs. Fujan:
I grew up in Wahoo, Nebraska, just 30 miles north of Lincoln. I graduated from Wahoo High School in 2002. My college years were spent here in Lincoln. I attended the Univeristy of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2002-2006.
This is my fourth year teaching at Brownell. In 2006-2007 I taught 3rd grade. I then switched to second grade and that is where I belong! Second graders are so eager to explore and create their own ideas about new things.
THE BIG NEWS!!!
As many have probably heard, my husband and I are expecting our first child in late January/early February! Chris and I are extermely excited! I will work as long as I can up until the baby comes. I will then take off 6-7 weeks. I will return after Spring Break for 4th quarter. The baby will join us, our rabbit Dory, and our 2 fish Ozzy and Oscar, at our home here in Lincoln.
