IMPORTANT NFHS AND NSAA RULE CHANGE FOR THE

2008-2009 SEASON:

Players must wear 6 inch shingaurds.

Shingaurds must be no higher than 2 inches from the ankle.

All shingaurds must be NOCSAE approved.

Penalty: the head coach shall receive the first caution (yellow card) issued for an illegally equipped player(s). All subsequent cautions (yellow cards) issued for illegally equipped player(s) shall be issued directly to the player(s) and not to the head coach.

Sportsmanship Penalties:

Any participant ejected a second or third time during a SCHOOL YEAR for unsportsmanlike conduct shall be ineligible for the next two contests at that level of competition and all other athletic contests at any level during the interim, in addition to other penalties the NSAA or school may assess.

Example:

**If an athlete is ejected from a basketball game during the 2008-2009 season and then given a red card in the first game of the 2008-2009 soccer season, that athlete must sit out the next TWO soccer games instead of ONE.**
