- Login with your email user name and password.
- You should now be at the Welcome screen, you should see your name and have a "New" button. Click New.
- You should see a box that says Select Item choose the item that best describes what you are having a problem with. Is it your MAC Desktop, a software program, or do you need something installed?
- Once you choose the Item you should now see Classification and Problem Type. Classification is where you choose the best option from the list to descibe what is wrong with the item you choose in the previous window. You are more limited here on choices so choose the best one or if none of the choices fit your problem choose other.
- In the description box you can explain the problem more in depth, the more descriptive you are, the quicker the problem will get solved a good decription will help prevent the need for someone to contact you for additional information. Do not forget to include the room number and computer number that you are having the problems with. Here are a few examples:
- My computer in room 332D is not working. I can not power it on at all. Has not worked all morning.
- I am not able to print from my laptop which is located in room 332. I need to print to the printer in room 332 and it keeps saying printer not responding.
Why submit a Ticket for Help when I can just come and ask you?
The LiveTime Ticket system is a way for the District Office to keep track of issues that arrise. It allows t Computing Services to track what problems schools are having and the that are being taken to resolve the issue. So there is a purpose behind it even though it might take longer to fill out the Ticket then come and get me, it is a way you know I will not forget to come look at what you have going on! If you stop me in the hall and ask me a question, I might Forget!
Teachers-Helpful Computer Lab tips
To make you and your students experiences excellent in the computer labs these things might help:
- Plan ahead, try out the software, or learn how to navigate to where the students need to be and submit a ticket for any bookmarks you might need setup before the students come into the labs.
- Make sure your students know their student ID and password to save to their server folder. Items left on the Desktop or in Documents can and will be deleted.
- If they do not know their password, you can look up that up for them if they want to be able to save to their server folder. The link to look that up is stupass. To login you need your LPS email name and password and the students ID number.
- They should not be saving to the U Locker as that is not the correct Student location to save items.
- The server path for Student folder access is
- smb://lswsvr.lps.net/SCOStudents
- Make sure your students are not excessively printing items that are not needed.
