Course Description
This introductory business class will explore the Nebraska Career Education Model emphasizing the following two career fields: Business, Marketing and Management;and Communication & Information Systems. The units of study will center on five career clusters within these two career fields. Students will experience business activities and careers in each of the career clusters.
Units of Study
1. Introduction to NCE Career Fields and Clusters
2. Marketing, Sales & Service Career Cluster
3. Hospitality & Tourism Cluster
4. Business, Management & Administration Cluster
5. Finance Cluster
6. Information Technology Cluster
7. Final Project
Class Procedure
- Upon entering class, read the directions written/projected on the board. Pick up a textbook/handouts and proceed to your assigned seat.
- When the bell rings, you will see a bell ringer activity projected onto the white board. You will have a few minutes to answer the bell ringer and hand in your answers to the teacher.
- The objective(s), procedure and assignment(s) for the day will be projected/written on the white board.
- Follow the directions given orally or written by the teacher for each assignment.
- You will be expected to work all period and turn in all completed assignments to the teacher.
- Four quality standards that must be met before students are excused from class:
- Everyone in their assigned seat & quiet
- Room neat
- Chairs & tables in the original position
- Books stacked neatly
- Teacher will dismiss class.
Remember
BE SAFE
Take care of school equipment/property.
No pop, or food (including candy and gum) in the computer labs
Clean up your workstation at the end of the class period
BE RESPONSIBLE
In your seat when the bell rings
Be prepared for class
Follow directions the first time they are given
BE RESPECTFUL
Raise your hand and be recognized before speaking
Profanity, rude or vulgar comments or actions will not be allowed
No "Cheating or Plagiarism"
No cell phones and electronic musical devices
Maintain a positive attitude
