Mr. Rohlfs

 

Mr. Brady Rohlfs has been in education for 12 years.  He graduated high school from Syracuse High School in Syracuse, NE.  From there he attended Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska majoring in music and education.  His main instruments of scholarship were the tuba and bass guitar.  Mr. Rohlfs also was active in vocal music groups at his college.  Upon graduation his first teaching job was in Sterling, NE.  At this job he taught 5-12 instrumental music and 7-12 vocal music.   He also coached high school track and volleyball.  His next teaching position was at Ashland-Greenwood Public schools, where he taught 5-12 instrumental only.  During this time Mr. Rohlfs also began work on his Masters in Music Education.  The next position was back in his hometown of Syracuse where he had 5-12 instrumental and 7-12 vocal.  At this position Mr. Rohlfs enjoyed having over 280 students involved in his music program.  It was at this time during his five years at Syracuse that he completed his Masters in Music Education degree from the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. 

In 2005 Mr. Rohlfs began at Lincoln Northeast working with the marching bands, concert bands, and jazz band.  He also has begun work for the last two years on his Doctorate in Education Administration.

Mr. Rohlfs also spends time as a clinician for marching and concert bands, conducting various honor bands and serving as adjudicator at different competitions and festivals.  He has received various awards during his time as a music educator including the Jack Snyder Young Band Directors Award in 2002.

Mr. Rohlfs was married to his wife Lori in 2000 and they have two children, Alexis age 4 and Ethan age 2.  They are expecting another child in March of 2008!  He also still has his original "children", two chocolate labs Birdie and Magnum.  His hobbies include EMT work, volleyball, and restoring classic cars and tractors.
