Welcome
Hello! I'm Miss Burkey, a teacher on the 6A team. Mrs. Christiancy, Mr. Zetterman, Mr. Daharsh, and Mr. Rump are my 6th grade teaching partners. Mrs. Krenk is our Special Education Teacher, and Mrs. Raven is our 6th grade counselor.
I grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska, graduating from Lincoln East High School and then the University of Nebraska with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. I also recieved a Master's Degree in Special Ed. from the University.
I started my teaching career at Zeman Elementary with special ed. students K-3rd grade. Next I went to Hill Elementary to teach 4th grade. This is my third year teaching at Scott Middle School in the 6th grade.
When I'm not at school I enjoy spending time with my family. We raise Quarter Horses so that means lots of time in the saddle. In addition to horses I have a Rat Terrier named Maggie. I tell lots of stories about my family and pets so I included pictures of some of them!
