             Welcome to Social Studies!

"Hi! My name is Ms. Janssen! Welcome to my website! If you are having difficulty using this website, read the information below OR contact me for assistance. You may contact me at".

A little about myself:

Hi! My name is Cheyenne Janssen. This will be my 5th year at Northeast High School. I am looking forward to getting to know you throughout the year. If you would like to contact me please use the information below. Email is the most efficient way of contacting me.

Office/Room:  254/155

Plan Period:    6th period (1:15-2:00)

Phone:              436-1303  ext. 235

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Paul, for five years on September 18. We have a three year old son, Kellen, who keeps me very busy when I'm not at Northeast. We will be spending a lot of time at NE sporting events this year since my son is a huge fan so any sport involving a ball!  I have lived in Lincoln since 2001, when I moved here to attend UNL. I received my masters in teaching in December 2003. I have a bachelors degree in criminology from the University of New Mexico. I am from Albuquerque, NM and visit often as my parents and sister still  live there.   I am beginning to acclimate to the mid-west, although still not a fan of cold winters or humid summers!  Finally, I'm proud to be a part of the Rocket tradition!

The Basics: How to navigate Janssen's website.

If you are trying to navigate this site and are confused, here are some hints and tips that will (hopefully) help you out:

New! This first page, " Welcome", will give you some basic information about the classes that I teach and the rules and policies of said classes. (see links below)

New! The 9TH GRADE page has, you guessed it, information about 9th Grade (World Geograhy/Civics). This includes course outline, class notes and selected assignments, portfolio information and due dates, and grades. You are expected to check this website weekly for information and assignments.

New! Finally, the GOPO page has everything you need to know about what is going on in government and politics class. Required readings can be found here. As well, I have included lecture notes for class, assignments, online quizzes, practice essay's, supplementary materials and grades.  You are expected to check website weekly for information and assignments.
