We Take You Places!

The people below are going on a vacation…the thing is, they have no idea where they want to go!  They know what type of climate and ecosystem they want to go to but they don’t know where to go!

Below are different statement about where they want to go.  What you need to do is read the statement, use your notes and write down what type of climate or ecosystem they would like to be in.  Then look at your map of climates (70) and ecosystems (78) and choose a town, city or country that I should send them to for their vacation. (Remember that although we did not have all the ecosystems on the charts I told you to go back and look at the others in the book they are on this sheet too.)

Sue Ann- I would love to go to an ecosystem that has a lot of rain, it is really really hot, and there are a wide range of plants and animals.  I love really tall trees for shade and smaller plants near the floor.  Where kind of ecosystem will I like?

Bobby-  I like the kind of climate that has hot summers and cool winters.  My perfect temperature range is 52-72 degrees.  I also don’t want a lot of people around. What kind of climate would I like?

Francesca-  I like the kind of climate that is cold all year round.  My ideal temperature range is 0-40 degrees.  I don’t like a lot of trees because I love to see all the beautiful, glistening snow.  I would also like to learn about permafrost.  What kind of climate would be best for me?

Steve- I like the kind of ecosystem that is very warm and receives the most sunlight.  I want to see the seasons change.  I want to see tall, lush, green grasses that don’t need a lot of water.  I also want to experience a wildfire and also see how the land adapts to such changes. You know what would be really cool?  If I could see a zebra or even a lion!!!!  What ecosystem is best for me?
