Some things about me

Professionally:

For the past 12 years I have taught Geography in the Lincoln Public School District. In my first year, I was part of a three-person team that wrote the standards and expectations for the new geography curriculum. I also helped select the textbook used by the district. Since then I have continued to be involved in making an impact in our district and on our children’s education in the area of geography. Four years ago, I left the classroom for nine weeks as the sole writer for the new 9th grade geography curriculum and standards that were implemented district wide. Today, I am continuing to work with a panel of high school geography teachers that are focusing on the direction of today's discipline of Geography. I'm proud to be making our students able to organize geography into a coherent body of knowledge, because the need for geographic knowledge is as old as humankind itself. I am one of two A.P. Human Geography teachers in LPS, certified by both A.P. Central and The Geographic Educators of Nebraska. In 2005, at the National Conference of Geographic Education,I was awarded the Distinguished Geography Teaching Award from the National Council of Geographic Educators in Montgomery, AL.

Personally:

Lincoln transplant for the last 30 years. I love Nebraska!

married to Mrs. Mo for 25 years

3 sons and a daughter-in-law; Brad (Mega Mo) and his wife Marleena, Sean ( Middle Mo), and Nick ( Mini Mo).

I love to cook, camp-out and fish, backpack, photograph and read. I also like to garden, grow flowers and work in the yard. I spend as much time as I can out-of-doors.

I love rock-and-roll, (classic stuff from the 70's and 80's). I've seen the Alman Brothers 18 times in concert!!! You could say I'm a fan.

Make that 19 times - just saw them in Omaha Friday Aug 31!!!
