New Music Groups and Opportunities
The Pound Sing and Swing Choir--This choir meets after school on the first, third and fourth Tuesdays every month from 3:00 until 3:45 p.m. It is open to any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who would like to sing with some added choreography to our songs. Students will be asked to pay $10 toward the purchase of a shirt which we wear for performances. We will perform for nursing homes and special programs in the community. We will also perform at Pound concerts with other choirs at the end of each semester.
The Middle Level 8th Grade Honors Festival Choir--This is an auditioned choir for interested eighth graders. If selected for this choir, the student will be required to attend four rehearsalsThe final concert will be conducted by a guest conductor on April 10 at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Music for this group will be challenging and of a more serious musical nature. This is an opportunity for those students who are very interested in pursuing vocal music in high school and/or college.
