| Jomon Coil Pots |
The ancient Japanese Jomon Culture influenced the style of coil pots. The work focused on the art element Line and the art principle Rhythm. Artists were required to create a greenware vessel between 10” and 14” in height. The pieces are made with buff clay, stained 7% red iron oxide, and fired to cone 6. |

| Slab Box with Lid |
Continual patterns of Polynesian designs influenced the patterns on the Slab Boxes. The work focused on the art element Shape and the art principle Contrast. Artists were required to create a greenware vessel 4” in height. The design was impressed with a template made from illustration board. Lids were cut with a felting knife after the box was completed. The boxes are made with buff clay and cone 6 glazes. |

| Pitchers |
Peter Voulkos and the ideas behind the Ceramic Art movement influenced the pitchers. Artists combined Traditional Pottery and 2oth Century Art Movements to create the ideas of their work. Pitchers were required to be functional with a lid, handle, and spout. Artists used a variety of construction methods to create a pitcher 10” to 14” in height. The pitchers are made with buff clay and cone 6 glazes. A variety of glaze applications were used. The insides are poured with a food safe cream color. |
