Teacher's Desk:  About Me

Hello!  My name is Darla Berks.  I earned my BA degree in Elementary and Middle level Math, English, and Social Sciences Education from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Nebraska.  After college, I worked at Boys Town - both in the schools and in the homes.  I began teaching in the public schools in 1998 at Meadows Elementary School in Ralston.  I married and moved to Lincoln in 2000 and have taught at Lux Middle School, North Star Middle School, and now Scott Middle School.  I earned a master's degree in Middle Level Mathematics from UNL as well as an administrative endorsement from UNL.  In the afternoons, when not at Scott, I am an Algebra Coach with Lincoln Public Schools.  When I am not busy with school work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters.  I am excited to be your child's teacher this year!
