Bio:

Dan Carpenter is in his seventh year as head coach for the Lincoln Southwest High School Men’s Soccer Program and his 15th year coaching High School Soccer.

Coach Carpenter was born in Oxnard California and raised in Allen and Plano Texas. Coach began his passion for soccer in late elementary school playing in a Catholic School Leagues. He played High School and Club soccer in Texas in the mid to late 1980s. Coach made all state honors two of his four years and played in the state all star match his senior year as an outside back.

After graduating from high school, Coach went on to play professional soccer for several select clubs in the United States Army in Erlangen Germany and at Fort Meade Maryland USA. While in Germany Coach played for a select travel squad that played both United States and German Club Teams in middle and southern Germany. His preferred role on the field has always been as an outside back in a four back system where he could use his (once given) speed and physical level of play in both attacking and defending systems.

After the military, Coach attended the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, where he earned several college degrees including a BS in Science and a Master of Arts.

His first teaching and coaching stint was in Tecumseh Nebraska, where he started a soccer program for a small Class C-2 school. He moved on to Lincoln Northeast High School where he coached for five years. When Lincoln Southwest High School opened, Coach was offered the Head Men’s Soccer position where he has been since.
