Select Varsity Concert Choir
Select Varsity Concert Choir is a mixed choir (guys & gals) that meets during Block 3B, Monday through Friday. Members were selected by audition in the early Spring of 2009 to be members of the ensemble during the 2009-10 school. year. In this class, students learn principles of music theory, music history, basics of vocal pedagogy, choral literature, and rehearsal/performance ettiquite. The choir performs at 4 concerts/year as well as the LPS Large Group Contest. In November, Varsity Concert Choir will be performing with the Omaha Symphony at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha for the 4th year in a row. It has become an awesome invitational tradition. In 2007, the Varsity Concert Choir was selected to perform at the Nebraska Music Educators Conference. In 2008, they performed a joint concert with Drake University. This group will be a workshop choir at the 2009 NMEA Conference at UNL. The 2009-10 Select Varsity Concert Choir features 65 voices.
