Each day, as many as three students can present current events.

Expectations and requirements for CE presenters:

  • Each Student must give two current events sometime during the term, using the   "Current Event Sheet" format (Summative)
  • Each Student may give extra currents, for Formative pts. (No Limit) Extra current events must be given using a "Current Event Sheet" See below.
  • A current event from a credible news source (newspaper, news website, TV news etc.)
  • Current event must relate to Economics/GOPO. These could be either national or international events and issues.
  • Be prepared to show that you have read and understand the event and any issues that the article puts forth by giving a fairly comprehensive summary of the event you chose.   You can quote from your article, but you will not be allowed to read from the article directly.    (Hint: Be prepared to answer questions about your event and how it relates to our classroom study)
  • All preparation for your presentation must be done before class starts

Bonus Current Event Topics: If you do a current event over one of the following topics or these concepts are being presented w/ in your current event, it may be worth extra credit, depending on the quality of your presentation.
