- Fun Brain - Below, you will find a number of references to Fun Brain's web site. This link will give you the option of choosing from several different skill and subject areas.
Language Arts
- Houghton Mifflin Reading - You can access support and additional information to help your child in his/her reading progress.
- Wacky Web Tales - This is a fun site where you and your kids can practice the parts of speech with Mad Lib-type activities.
- Giggle Poetry - This is a site created by Bruce Lansky, kids' poet. Parents will probably enjoy it, too!
- Writing Fix - This is a fun web site created by the Northern Nevada Writing Project. You need to be selective about the types of activities you choose, but there are some fun ones.
- Fun Brain's Grammar Gorillas - Need practice with your parts of speech? Click on the correct answer and get a banana!
Math
- Houghton Mifflin Math - Parents' Place - This is where you can get help to support your child's math progress.
- Additional Houghton Mifflin Math Resources - Here are some resources to help your child at home, as well as some fun activities.
- Houghton Mifflin Math Worksheets - Here are the worksheets that we assign to the students. If you child misplaces a worksheet, you may print off a new one from this link.
- Multiplication.com - This is a web site where your kids can play multiplication games, do some fun activities, or print some practice timed tests.
- Fun Brain Math Baseball - This is a great activity to help your child practice the math facts. You get to choose the level and problems.
- Fun Brain's Mathcar Racing - Are you a racing fan? This activity helps you practice your basic facts while being a part of a race.
- Fun Brain's Sudoku - Do you like doing those Sudoku puzzles in the newspaper? Well, here's an online version.
- Brainormous - This is a site that allows you to play math games, testing your skills in multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction. While the goal is to sell you a software download, you can try out some of the activities without paying.
