About Me
Wow! I have been doing this education thing a very long time. I started my career teaching third grade in Adams, NE in 1984. I taught there for six years. While I was there, I met my wife, Kelley. Her brother was in my first third grade class. I also worked on my master's degree in education administration. I received my master's in 1989.
In 1990, I became the elementary principal in Bennet, NE which is a part of District OR1. I was there for seven years. While at Bennet, our son, Preston was born. I found administration to be challenging and enlightening, but not much fun. I went back to teaching in 1997. My first position in Lincoln Public Schools was a one-year fifth grade position at Calvert. I then moved to Fredstrom where I taught a combination fourth/fifth grade class for three years.
Ready for another challenge, I moved to Hill Elementary in 2001. I taught fourth grade there for five years. It was not until 2006 that I came to Maxey to teach third grade. I taught third grade for two years, then had the opportunity to move to fourth grade. I am now teaching fourth grade and am the team leader. It is great to work with committed individuals like I have found here at Maxey! I have to say, I love it here! But one thing I have noticed: kids are kids no matter where they live. Each has his or her own personality which makes for interesting classes every year.

My wife works at St. Elizabeth's as a medical technologist. My son, Preston, is a freshman at Norris High School (Go Titans!) and loves to run cross country. We live on a small acreage outside of Firth, NE. I enjoy music of all kinds, gardening (until it gets hot), and reading (especially mysteries).
