Welcome to my website
I started teaching in 1987. The first 3 years of my career were spent teaching courses ranging from Pre-Algebra to Calculus at Palmyra High School. I spent the next 11 years teaching at Irving Middle School in Lincoln. At Irving, I taught a variety of courses including 7th grade math, 8th grade math, Transition Math, Algebra, and Differentiated Geometry. I have been teaching at East High School since the 2001-2002 school year. At East, I have taught Foundations of Math, Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Differentiated Advanced Algebra, and Pre-Calculus.
I am currently serving as the Mathematics Department Chair. I have served on various committees for the district, including the Mathematics Graduation Demonstration Exam Writing Committee, Criterion Referenced Test Writing Committee, Textbook Selection Committee, and the Curriculum Steering Committee.
I am married to Daniel Dougherty and he has been teaching mathematics at Southeast High School since 1985. We have three daughters. Erin the oldest, is a Junior at East High School. Our middle daughter, Alexis, is a Freshman at East. Katie, the youngest, is aKindergarten at St. Joseph's School this year.
