East wins medals in Capital City
and Fremont Invites!

Lincoln East
dominated the 2nd annual Capital City Invitational held at Woods
Park Tennis Center. Led by Freshman Brandon Videtitch who won the gold medal
with a 5-0 record in #2 singles.
The Spartans were also dominant in #2 doubles as senior Jason Haase and junior
Chris Jensen finished with an unblemished record of 5-0 capturing the gold
medals. In #1 doubles seniors Ethan Hamilton and Jamie Lauer finished a solid 4-1
securing the silver medals. #1 singles player Andy Sorensen finished a strong
3-2 in the very competitive #1 singles draw.

In what is deemed the most
competitive high school tournament prior to state, Lincoln East finished in third
place behind Lincoln Southeast and Omaha Westside. The ten team pool play
tournament boasts some of the strongest players in the state. East was led by
the gold medal performance of #2 doubles team Jason Haase and Chris Jensen who
finished 5-0 and defeated Southeast in the finals. Freshman Brandon Videtitch
continued his outstanding season in #2 singles, finishing third with a 4-1
record, his only loss coming to gold medalist Drew Merceir from Westside.
Finishing very strong were #1 singles Andy Sorensen who finished 2-3 in his
pool, and silver medalists Ethan Hamilton and Jamie Lauer who finished 2nd
with a 4-1 record in #1 doubles.
