Assistant Coach Rick Stempson
Rick Stempson, a former player under NU Coach Kerry McDermott, has completed his fourth season as an NU assistant coach. Stempson is in charge of organizing and assisting McDermott in day-to-day functions, including recruiting, teaching and administrative duties.
Stempson played for the Huskers during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. In 1995, Stempson and Fredrik Riesbeck finished second at No. 2 doubles at the Big Eight Championships. A native of Lincoln, Stempson began his playing career at the University of Nebraska at Kearney before transferring to NU in 1994. He was a four time letterman at Lincoln East High School where he won state championships in #2 singles and #1 doubles. He also was the assistant coach to Jeff Hoham for the Spartan team from 1992-94.
