Janet King
Hi, I’m Janet King. I have had the opportunity to work with students and their families at Brownell for a number of years, first at fourth grade and more recently at fifth grade. Prior to that I worked in San Diego County with fifth graders and at Rousseau School in Lincoln with third and fourth graders. My degrees are from Kearney and UNL and I have had experience working with children at all grade levels.
My husband, Craig, and I have one married son, Tim, and his wife, Angie who both live and work here in Lincoln. I also have an elderly mother who lives in the Holdrege Memorial Homes. I visit her regularly and enjoy all kinds of “family” time. I like to read, walk, take “teacher” classes, travel anywhere, and just generally enjoy life. I was raised on a farm near Holdrege, Nebraska, attended schools there, and every once in awhile still refer to it as “home”.
I have always appreciated Brownell students and continue to enjoy teaching the various subjects. However, Science seems to be especially fun and some fifth graders (and staff) have started to refer to me as the Rat Lady because fifth graders do have a class rat. Come and enjoy our rat with the rest of fifth grade!
