All About Me!
“The greatest good we can do for others is more than just sharing our riches with them, but revealing their riches to themselves.”
This quote used by Nebraska Human Resources Institutes basically sums up my teaching philosophy. I chose to enter the teaching profession because I wanted to make a difference. Most people look at me with a look of bewilderment when I tell them I teach middle school. Most think someone would be crazy to teach at this level. Some days I would agree with them, but I can’t imagine teaching any other age. I love the energy and excitement that middle school students have! Middle school, positively or negatively, leaves an impact on all of us. My goal is to help students to have a positive middle school experience. After all, it is our experiences that shape us.
My experiences began in Osmond, Nebraska, where I went to school until 10th grade. My family then moved to Neligh, Nebraska, where I graduated high school. I come from a long line of teachers!!! My mom used to teach business and is now the staff development director in Neligh. My dad is currently the guidance counselor at Neligh-Oakdale High School (where I went to school). All of my grandparents were also teachers. My older sister lives in Hastings, Nebraska, with her husband and three children. She was also a teacher before she decided to run a daycare and preschool out of her home. My younger sister lives on a ranch in Western Nebraska with her husband and my niece, Addison. My younger is attending deantal school at UNMC. Family means everything to me.

Five years ago I got married and started my own family. Wayne, my husband is the youngest of 11 children. We have two children; Abby who is 5, and Quinten who is 3. They keep us busy and are a source of great joy in our lives. I love watching life evolve through the eyes of a child. There is no greater joy to me than being a mother.
I graduated from UNL in December of 1999 and was hired right away at Lefler because a teacher retired mid-year. I taught at Lefler for three years and then transferred to Irving Middle School for one year. I was then surplussed to Scott, where I have been teaching for the past six years. I truly enjoy teaching. I enjoying watching my students learn and grow and learning and growing alongside of them.
