Schedule; Poetry assignments given these dates (due the next day):
Wednesday; Feb. 25: handed out poetry packets
Thursday; Feb. 26: complete couplets, quatrains, and "Mother" poem in poetry packet
Friday; Feb. 27: READING DAY (5 points for bringing your book; 5 points for reading)
Monday; Mar. 2: complete Pantoums & poem either about something you're proud of, or someone who has been special to you
Tuesday; Mar. 3: practice writing (writing exam March 4 & 11)
Wednesday; Mar. 4: complete limericks, cinquains, & "Rhythm of Time" in packet
Thursday; Mar. 5: complete haiku, tanka, haiku/tanka
Friday; Mar. 6: READING DAY (5 points for bringing your book; 5 points for reading)
Monday; Mar. 9: iambic pentameter (we'll work on it in computer lab)
Tuesday; Mar. 10: practice writing (writing exam March 4 & 11; reading exam Mar. 11)
Wednesday; Mar. 11: complete name poem & diamonte
Thursday; Mar. 12: complete mood poem, energy wheel, & self-portrait; we're also in computer lab C113 so you can type your five poems for your project (which is due March 20)
Friday; Mar. 13: READING DAY (5 points for bringing your book; 5 points for reading)
Monday; Mar. 16: BOOK REPORT FORM DUE (100 points; given to students the first day of the quarter)
Monday; Mar. 16: riddle poem
Tuesday - Thursday (Marc. 17-19): "Rime of the Ancient Mariner
Friday; Mar. 20: POETRY PROJECTS DUE & then READING DAY (5 points for bringing your book; 5 points for reading)
