Diff Physics 1st semester projects 2008

The Nobel project due Wednesday November 5, 2008

Your project will be graded on the following criteria (25 points):

  • Background information to the researcher or team of researchers that won the Nobel prize for the year you picked
  • Where the research was done
  • Explain the research that was done
  • The impact on Physics the research had
  • Your final project will be a power point presentation (both electronic and hard copies

Example project

Physics lecture at UNL (2) Due Tuesday December 9, 2008

For each talk you must type the following; (20 points for each talk)

  • Presenters name
  • Topic of the talk
  • Date of the talk
  • Summary of the major points and how the information is being used to further scientific knowledge.

 

Physics lab power point project (groups of up to 3)

due Wednesday December 17, 2008

This Power Point will summarize the lab that we have conducted in class and must include the following(25 points) Example project

  • Brainstorming variables to design the experiment
  • Students conducting the experiment
  • Collecting and analyzing the data
  • Preparing and presenting the whiteboards
  • Summarizing the lab with Mr. Rynearson and the class

10/17 (F)    10  Outline of your paper including at least 3 references you have used
11/14(F)     20 Rough draft of paper (this is the whole research paper in rough form) including all the references you have used, both a hard copy and copy summated to; Turn-it-in.com.
12/14 (F)   75  Final paper (hard copy and electronic, Microsoft word) is due.  No late papers will be accepted, when I leave for home I will have all the papers that will be graded with me.

Cover Page:   Must include: Title, student name, picture

              related to your topic, and date. (5 Points)
        

Body of Paper:    10 to 20 pages in length including diagrams,     graphs, tables and charts that demonstrates high level of original thinking and evaluation of information about your topic (cutting and pasting is not acceptable, make sure you read page 3 in your student planner about ACADEMIC INTEGRITY) (50 points)

Writing Mechanics :   Must include good spelling, capitalization, punctuation, 12 point fount, clear and readable font choice, double line spacing. (5 points)

Documentation All sources must be properly cite including footnotes and a bibliography. (15 points)
