Pre IB-Physical / GeoScience
Day
Topic
Assignments
Monday

-Look at types of graphs

  • What is a origin
  • Use motion detector to graph motion of a student
  • How do you walk to match a graph?

Quiz on first 3 Anticipation Guides Thursday
Tuesday

-Talk about how you would make a displacement vs time graph for Mr. Rynearson walking.

-Have students make a graph for 4 different trials, talking about each one after the students have attempted them.

-Introduce Match-it program, have students wright a description on how a person would walk to match the displacement vs time graph (#1 & 4) and draw a velocity vs time graph for the situation.

Quiz on first 3 Anticipation Guides Thursday
Wednesday

-Check homework graph

-Wright a description on how a person would walk to match the displacement vs time graph (#5) and draw a velocity vs time graph for the situation.

-Have students try to match the graph by walking in front of the motion detector (4 total students)

-Repeat the above process for graph #6

-Anticipation Guides on Newton's 2nd and 3rd laws due Friday
Thursday

-Quiz over the first 3 Anticipation Guides

-Go over how to collect Force vs Mass data using the force interfacing equipment.

Friday

-Fall Festivus (34 minute class periods)

-Show students how to use LoggerPro to graph data

-Collect Force (N) vs Mass (kg) data

-Graph data if time permits
