Chris Soentpiet Visits Elliott!

Author/Illustrator Chris Soentpiet (pronounced “Soon-peet”) visited Elliott in November. He likes to illustrate books that tell about history and many cultures. He talked with us about how he does research so that his illustrations are accurate. He showed us examples of ways he uses models for the characters in his pictures. He paints with watercolors and sometimes takes a whole year to finish a book. Chris gave three presentations and spent the afternoon at Elliott autographing books. Thanks to a generous donation from a community friend, every student received an autographed book.
