Back Pack Program!!
Dear Maxey Community,

> Children of Lincoln Public Schools need our help! The teachers at
> Maxey Elementary School would like you to join us in the 2008 BackPack
> Extra Mile event sponsored by Lincoln Public Schools. This is a
> completely voluntary event. This event will raise funds that will go
> directly to the children of Lincoln Public Schools in the form of the
> BackPack program. The BackPack program fills backpacks with food for
> children of need every Friday throughout the school year. Without
> this backpack, these children would go hungry.

> Along with this letter, you will find a “Pledge Envelope.” Enclosed
> in the envelope, is a facts sheet that will explain details concerning
> the BackPack Extra Mile walk and the need for assistance. Our goal at
> Maxey is to have every student and every teacher gather pledges and
> walk on April 26th. If a student gathers ten dollars worth of
> pledges, they will reveive an Extra Mile Walk T-Shirt. If your child
> is not available to participate in the walk, we would still encourage
> them to gather pledges and receive a t-shirt. We would like to invite
> you to help your child gather pledges as much as possible.

> It costs $150 to fill a BackPack for a child every Friday throughout
> the school year. We would like to set a goal that every teacher and
> every Maxey Family gather $150 dollars worth of pledges. All pledges
> are tax deductible.

> The pledge envelopes are due back to Maxey from April 15-18th.

> Thank you for helping us help Lincoln children in need.
