Persuasive Speech
**If you did not do your informative speech but you did your persuasive speech, you will still fail the class, unless you do your informative speech!**
Requirements for Persuasive Speech
1. 5-7 minutes
2. Intro/Body/Concl: the 3X3 outline format
3. at least 3 sources cited in the speech
4. an MLA Works Cited
5. an outline or copy of speech must be handed in at time of performance
6. turn in the final paper to turnitin.com
Grading Scale
A: In order for a student to receive an "A" on this speech the student must deliver the speech from memory.
B+: In order for a student to receive a "B+" on this speech the student must deliver the speech from note cards.
B or lower: If a student takes their speech manuscript with them to deliver their speech, they will not be able to earn anything higher than a "B".
Failure: A student will fail this assignment if they:
1. fail to cite their sources in their speech;
2. plagiarize their speech;
3. use another student's speech as their own;
4. uses more than 150 directly quoted words;
5. does not make an MLA Works Cited;
6. does not have an outline to hand in; or
7. simply reads their research.
