2009 All State Music Members
Congratulations to the 2009 All-State members. We have set another record number of students selected this year. These students rehearsed and performed at the Nebraska Music Educators Conference at UNL on November 18th - 20. The 2008 All-State Choir, Band, & Orchestra members are:

London Trip Highlights

ALL LONDON PARTICIPANT MEETING:
Monday, November 30th- 7:30pm
LSW Commons
This meeting will cover all specifics and final details of the trip.
It is imperative that a representative from each family making the trip is at the meeting!
Important airline information, trip itinerary, and other specifics to the trip will all be addressed.
This is the ONLY meeting before we leave on December 27!!
Please try everything in your power to make it to this meeting!

The LSW band will be participating in the worlds largest parade on New Years Day 2010, the Wind Ensemble, members of the LSW Orchestra and combined members of the LSW Choir Department will be performing the “Music For London” Concert at St. Augustine’s Church in London before a large audience. The Combined LSW Choir will also perform in the London International Choral Festival Gala Concert in the beautiful and historic Westminster Cathedral.All of the travelers will have the opportunity to see such historic sites as The Tower of London, Stonehenge, The Roman Baths in Bath, England, Windsor Castle, numerous classic sites in London, a broadway musical among others. This will be a trip of a lifetime for all involved.

Drawing: In anticipation of the Spring Musical, PETER PAN, we will be selling chances for a Tinkerbell costume and a Hook or Peter Pan figurine from Disneyland in California. The cost is $1.00 per chance. The winning tickets will be pulled after the final performance of PETER PAN on April 24. You need not be present to win!
DRAMA CLUB
Drama Club is open to ALL Lincoln Southwest High School students. You do not have to take theatre classes or currently be involved in a production to participate and attend the Drama Club meetings. Drama Club Meetings are usually held in the auditorium. Here are the dates for 2009-2010.

THEATRE PARENT MEETINGS
ANY parent who has a student that would like to be a part of the theatre program at Southwest should plan on attending the parent meetings. We go over the auditioning process and talk about how to support our students and the theatre department. Parents can also get involved in activities surrounding the productions. But most of all – we have a lot of fun getting to know the other parents! Meetings are held in the Black Box. Here are the meeting dates for 2009-2010.

- Sports schedules:
- SILVER HAWKS THEATRE DEPARTMENT HAS A VENDING MACHINE! The vending machine in the inner E-wing hallway is a fundraiser for the Theatre Dept. Come on down and quench your thirst!
- Silver Hawks Booster Club meetings take place the third Monday of every month. Athletic/Activities meetings are held in the Media Center at 6:30 p.m. with the Performing Arts being held in the Media Center Conference Room at 6:30 p.m. The Coordinated Board meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center.

PAC: Parent Advisory Council
Parent Advisory Council Meetings are held the second Monday of every month starting in September in the A118 Forum. The forum is the open area outside of the A100 classrooms located on the first floor, to the right as you enter the building. Mark these dates on your calendar and plan to attend to find out what Parent Advisory Council is all about!
