Computer Applications is a fantastic class for students that want to learn to use the Microsoft Office programs effectively.  This class uses the following Microsoft Office 2007 programs - Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.  We will also spend time learning about Internet Safety and proper Netiquette.

Week 3 - September 1 - 5, 2008

Monday, September 1

• NO SCHOOL!!! Labor Day!!

Tuesday, September 2

• Finish lecture, Cyberbullying and Internet Safety
  • Worksheet - Amy's Choice

Wednesday, September 3

• FBLA Introduction - 1st meeting is Thursday!
• Discussion on bullying videos
• Word 2007 - PowerPoint presentation

Thursday, September 4

• Word Section - Unit A (dark blue/purple)
  • Pages 4 - 5, learn parts of screen
  • Pages 6-13 - create a memo - save/print when finished
  • Pages 14-17 - create a fax using a template - save/print when finished

Friday, September 5

• Period 3 - finish Fax assignment - pages 16-17.
• Word Section - Unit A - Practice
  • On a piece of paper
    • Questions 1 - 20, pages 18-19
  • On the computer
    • Skills Review, pages 19-20 - print both when finishe

Week 2 - August 25 - 29, 2008

Monday, August 25

• Lecture - Computer Concepts - will use PowerPoint - PowerPoint file may be found in Studocs Folder for this class.

Tuesday, August 26

• Use PowerPoint plus Concepts section of your book to do the following.
  • Page 26, answer questions 1-35, please mark answers on a sheet of paper - turn in.
  • Page 29, Independent Challenge 1 - Disposal of Computers- submit findings via Microsoft Word, place in Handin folder in Studocs for this class.
  • Page 30, Independent Challenge 2 - Viruses - submit findings via Microsoft Word, place in Handin folder in Studocs for this class.

Wednesday, August 27

• Computer Use Agreement and Parental Signature (green) forms are due.
• Finish assignment on Concepts Unit
