NEWS FROM THE GYM!

September 11, 2007 If you stop out to the Rousseau playground you will see students PLAYING who are actually WORKING on their strength by using our terrific climbing equipment!  I have also noticed fabulous and fast 4 square games during recess as well! Keep it up! We have learned and practiced both of these things in our first few P.E. classes so far this year!

September 10, 2008: CLIMBING THE WALLS IN PE CLASS: Thanks to Rousseau PTA of the past, we have a wonderful climbing wall in the gym and ALL students have already had the opportunity to "soar to new heights" in strength, strategy and appropriate risk, heading up the wall. Pictures coming soon!

Coming this Fall:  Nebraska is known for GREAT volleyball. Volleyball teaches quickness, striking, teamwork and so much more! If you come to the gym during grades 3, 4, 5 this Fall you will see young Olympians at practice! They will serve (underhand and overhand), learn to pass, volley, spike, and play defense! All lessons are wrapped in the PILLARS OF CHARACTER and the FUN of learning something challenging!  Go Huskers, Go Rams, Go Bolts, Go Silverhawks, Go Knights... :-)

In addition to volleyball, we'll try golf, jumping rope, fitness tests, and much more!

September 9, 2008:  Children in grades K, 1 and 2 are bouncing their way to good ball skills: dribble, bounce, catch, throw, strike! I hope they have a ball at home to play and practice! We're also climbing the walls! More information above.
