There are just a few things that all
students in any computer classroom at East have to follow.
Some of them, however, are just good ideas for everyone!
- Respect copyright laws, and don't make unauthorized
copies of software unless the original is clearly labeled shareware
or in the public domain.
- Don't intentionally access information that may
be obscene or offensive toward any other individuals, nor place
any such information on the network or Internet.
- Respect the security of any computer system or
network and don't try to gain unauthorized access to system programs,
computer systems, or another person's files.
- Don't use the computer systems to disturb or
harass other computer users.
- Use the computer equipment to meet instructional
objectives, and not as entertainment.
- Don't waste or take supplies and print only when
necessary to appropriate printers.
- Don't use the network for financial gain or any
commercial or illegal activity.
- Don't engage in vandalism, including bypassing
security systems, harming or destroying any data on the LPS network
or the Internet, or intentionally sharing computer viruses.
- Lincoln Public School District is not responsible
for any expenses that incur or purchases that are made while accessing
any on-line service, such as the Internet.
Any violation of the above statements will cause the
student to be subject to disciplinary action and can include the immediate
suspension of their computer privileges.
