Attendance Appeals
ATTENDANCE APPEAL PROCESS
Students who may exceed the limit of absences for any given class should check with the attendance office or their counselor about the process for appeal. If a student has a valid reason for missing class, credit may still be granted for the class if the student is earning a passing grade. When a student reaches 4 absences in a quarter class or 9 in a semester class, credit is lost unless an appeal is completed. Absences coded SA for school activities, AD for administrative actions or AP for alternative placement do not count towards those limits. TR truancies, PA parent acknowledged and IL illness absences all contribute toward the total count.
