LINCOLN HIGH SWIMMING and DIVING
2008-2009 COACHES
Since 1923 Lincoln High has had seventeen coaches serve as mentors for the swimming and diving team. The coaches for the 2008/2009 season have a total of 64 years experience. All of the coaches on this years staff learned their craft by swimming for or coaching with some of Nebraska's most successful coaches.
Richard Conradt
Richard Conradt began coaching at Lincoln High as an assistant coach under Gene Cotter in 1985. He became the head coach of Lincoln High Swimming in 1989.
Conradt has been involved in swimming since 1968 when he joined the Lincoln Swim Club. He attended Lincoln Pius X High School and participated in club swimming until the end of his Senior year of High School.
In 1977 Conradt joined the University of Nebraska Men's Swimming and Diving Team under Coach John Reta and later Cal Bentz. In his Junior and Senior years at the University of Nebraska he was voted team captain. In 1980 Conradt represented Nebraska at both the NCAA and USS Swimming Championships.
Conradt teaches at Lincoln High in the eLearning Lab. He still trains in the water several times a week for fitness.
Katherine Herrick
Katherine began swimming at the age of eight when she joined the Lincoln Parks and Recreation summer swimming program. She participated in club swimming and represented Lincoln High until she graduated in 2006. Katherine also participated on the Lincoln High Cross Country and Track teams.
During her High School career Katherine was a State Meet qualifier and Conference finalist. In 2005 Katherine was voted the Outstanding Female Athlete at Lincoln High by Lincoln High Athletic Department.
Katherine still trains several times a week. She attends the University of Nebraska and plans to acquire a degree in Art Education K-12.

REYNALDO CASTRO
Reynaldo Castro has had a very illustrious diving career. Reynaldo began diving as a young boy while growing up in the Dominican Republic.
He was a State Champion in the State of Michigan, and dove on the Junior World Team for DR. Reynaldo is a two time Olympic competitor representing the Dominican Republic at the 1980 and 1984 games.
In 1981 Reynaldo joined the University of Nebraska Men's Swimming and Diving Team. He was a Big Eight Conference Champion, NCAA Division 1 competitor and NCAA All American.
It was at the University of Nebraska that Reynaldo and Richard Conradt first met. He joined Richard in 1988 as Head Diving Coach at Lincoln High.
Reynaldo has been coaching diving for nearly 30 years.
