LINCOLN HIGH SWIMMING and DIVING

SWIM for HUNGER

If you have landed on this page you may be asking yourself what swimming and hunger have to do with each other. One could argue that they have little in common, but at Lincoln High we feel they have a lot in common.

Lincoln High Swimming and Diving is about more than just training and competing, it is also about giving back to the community. It is about teaching our athletes that they have the ability to help others that may be less fortunate than themselves.

Over the years the coaching staff has made contributions to various charities dependent on the number of 'best times" that swimmers record throughout our dual meet and championship season. This year is no different. With each best time or performance that a swimmer or diver achieves. I will donate one can of food to the Lincoln Food Bank.

This year we are asking parents, alumnus, and students to pledge something as well. We can't expect everyone to contribute something for every best time as that may be more than one can provide. We are asking everyone to consider what they may provide. Maybe it is a can of food for every ten best times, maybe it is a can of food for each meet. It is up to each individual to decide what they are able to give.

Lincoln High Swimmers and Divers Complete the year with 470

Best Times!!

That is correct. The Lincoln High Swimming and Diving Team recorded 470 best times this season. Because of the efforts and contributions of Parents, swimmers and Coaches the team will be making a donation of nearly $3000. At fifty cents a can that is nearly 6000 cans of food donated to the Lincoln Food Bank!! Awesome!! Look at the list below and see who the contributors are. Remember, it is not to late. HASTINGS HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMING and DIVING COACH ED RIEF PLEDGES $1 FOR EVERY BEST TIME BY A LINCOLN HIGH SWIMMER!!!

How can you not be amazed by this man's generosity! A coach from another team pledging to help us in our Swim for Hunger drive. Ed Rief, you are a very generous human being, a great coach, and a true role model. Let it be known that your contribution is greatly appreciated.

In case we need to jog your memory at the beginning of the season the coaching staff pledged to donate one can of food to the Lincoln Food Bank for each best time that the Lincoln High swimmers achieved. We also asked others to participate and you responded.
