"With reasonable men I will reason; with humane men I will plead; but to tyrants I will give no quarter, nor waste arguments, where they will certainly be lost."

William Lloyd Garrison

The Advocate-Telling it Like it Was

The Advocate has, and always will be, the Journalistic voice of the Lincoln High Student Body. Originally published once a week the advocate is now a monthly publication.

Since World War One the Advocate has kept students abreast of the current trends and world issues. During the great World Wars the Advocate dedicated many columns on War Life. From the Korean War onward, for whatever reason, stories pertaining to our nation's wars are few and far between.

The articles in the Advocate generally fell into three categories. There were letters home with news from the front. There were Patriotic and Motivational articles. And then there were the "straight news" articles. The letters home can be found on our Soldier Stories page. The others may be found at the links below.

These pages are not yet complete. Articles from the Advocate are being scanned daily and added nearly as soon. Visit often to catch the new additions.
