"History cannot give us a program for the future, but it can give us a fuller understanding of ourselves, and of our common humanity, so that we can better face the future."

Iraq War History Links
After the terror attacks of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 President George Bush and his team linked the Iraqis with Al-Qaeda. Claims that Saddam Hussein was racing to build weapons of mass destruction made it a Bush imperative to topple Sadaam from his place of power and bring a bastion of democracy to the Middle East.
While toppling of Saddam came quickly, bringing peace to the country had not been as swift. The war soon became a political football with both Democrats and Republicans touting separate plans to end the war. The link to Al-Qaeda nor the claims of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction were ever substantiated.
