Mrs. Susie Mahoney ~ School Counselor / Gifted Facilitator

Classroom Guidance Monthly Topics

September:

Kindergarten and 1st graders will be learning about my expectations when I visit the classrooms for Classroom Guidance this year. We will review what they should do if one of the dogs is coming with me, and how to stay focused on the lesson......which will help the dogs stay focused as well!

I will be reading a book called "Wemborly Worried" about a little mouse who worries about everything. We'll talk about what they may have been worried about when school started this year, and how to think positively. If there's time, we'll also work on important listening skills with an acitivty called "Oliver Crumpet".

2nd through 5th graders will be learning about my expectations when I visit the classrooms for Classroom Guidance this year. We will review what they should do if one of the dogs is coming with me, and how to stay focussed on the lesson......which will help the dogs stay focussed as well!

We'll talk about how they can ask me for help with a "blue note" found in their classrooms......and finish up  with an activity called "Triple Cheeseburger Counselor". This activity helps to explain my role as a school counselor here at Randolph.
