“The most important thing to do when solving a problem is to begin”

Frank Tyler

Lincoln Southwest Student Council

LSW Student Council is involved in many philanthropic activities throughout the year. We believe that, as leaders, it is our responsibility to give back to our community. Some of the many philanthropic events that we have either hosted or participated in are:

Safe Quarters for the Friendship Home

Fright Against Hunger for the People's City Mission

The Giving Tree for Cedars Youth Home

The Polar Bear Plunge for the Special Olympics

Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society

SilverScreen on the Green for the American Cancer Society

and The Food Bank

The Backpack Walk for The Food Bank

Adopt A Highway for the State Dept. of Roads

Habitat for Humanity

Forever Angels

... and MANY more!

While it would be great to donate all of our time exclusively for philanthropy, it is neccessary to raise our own funds for the many exciting things that we do for the school! Student Council not only helps out in the community, but we also help our school in various ways. The student council not only sponsors the Winter Formal and Prom, but we also host the annual Flight Night. Needless to say, all of this is quite costly! Some of the many exciting fundraising events that we have host are:

Bake Sales

Garage Sales

Penny Wars

SilverScreen on the Green

Flight Night

A night out at Noodle and Co.

The Green/White Affair (proceeds go to school improvement)

Designing/selling the official LSW NEST shirts

LSW Battle of the Bands

... and MANY more!
