For Your Information
From Jill Pauley, Director of Accounting:
ŌThe LPS Accounting and Payroll Departments have changed all of
their forms (other than IRS forms) that required an employee's social security

1. The agenda included a report on the Love and Logic
Conference the following staff members attended in Omaha in November: Lisa, Susan, Jeanie, Lance, and
Cara. These staff members will
present Love and Logic topics at the following staff meetings:
Jan. 8 Lisa Love and LogicÕs 9

Feb. 12 ___________________ The Recovery Process, Positive
Relationships with Students, Setting Limits
Feb. 19 ___________________

Interventions, Teaching Children to Own and Solve Their Own Problems
The GET members and staff who
attended the L & L conference will decide who will present these
topics. The format will be: overview of the topic, handout for
reference, and anecdotes provided by any of the conference goers. They will inform Dr. B. by Wed., Jan. 16
who is doing which part at which meeting.
2. The NDE is sponsoring a Family and Community Engagement
workshop on February 11 and 12 at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln. Schools who are part of the SPDG (state
professional development grant) are invited to send teams to this
workshop. Each school must send a
team consisting of at least the following personnel: one administrator, 2 Positive Behavior System members (in
our school, thatÕs the GET members), 2 School Improvement Team members, and 2
parents. Staff members attending
will use their own leave days, and receive $100 stipend for each day, and the
NDE will pay for their substitute teacher.
GET members received a
handout about the workshop in the mailboxes on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Members, please talk this workshop up
with your grade level/program teams.
Let Dr. B. know by Wed., Jan. 16 if you or a team member are interested
in participating.
3. Marking studentsÕ lunch choices is making a positive
difference in the accuracy of the lunch counts. Please continue this practice. Following are how the grades indicate which students are
lunch choice A or salad:
Kdg. = labels
First = name tag
Second =
Third = letter stamps
Fourth and Fifth = students
mark own hands
4. The end of the quarter assembly is Friday, January 11 at
9:00 a.m. in the gym. A flier is
going home with students on Tuesday, January 8, 2008 to remind everyone to wear
blue and white.
Notes from the Technology Planning Committee on Jan. 10,
2008
The Technology Planning Committee met on Thursday, Jan. 10th
at 8:15 in the Media Center.
Present were: Lisa, Jean,
Laura P., Jan, Kristin C., Patrick, Chris H., Trish, Wendy. The agenda included making a list of
technology equipment for each classroom and for each grade level. This is our goal list for the equipment
to be in every room and grade, and weÕll work to fund these minimums.
Classroom Technology
Overhead projector
Tape recorder
CD playe
Head phones & hubs
Computer for teacher
(emac
or laptop)
Computer for students
(district
supported, not tray loads,
imac)
Grade Level Technology
TV
VCR
DVD
Digital camera
LCD projector
There is about $4500 available for technology equipment for the
2008-09 school year. It was
decided to fund requests as far down each list as this amount will go.
We also talked about the value of having someone invest part of
their professional day in grant exploration and writing. Examples of other schools receiving
large technology grants were cited (Clinton, Elliott, Kahoe).
Grades 3, 4, and 5 need to remember the annual cost of subscribing
to Accelerated Reader ($1100) and factor their third into their supply budget.
Following is the list of technology requests by grade level, with
notations for which will be purchased:
Kindergarten
Digital cameras (4)
DVD with matching remote
Tape player for LindsayÕs
room
First Grade
Dry erase easels on wheels

Tape recorders (2) purchase

Discussion was held on the
purchase of LCD projector(s).
Chris H. is receiving a new projector from Media Services. Randolph gets to keep the one currently
in the library. We have one other
for loan, as well as one permanently in the computing lab. That will give us two LCD projectors to
place throughout the school. One
will go upstairs (on a cart) and one will be in the east wing (on a cart). Funds permitting, we will purchase one
more for the main floor.
Following is a list of the
other equipment we may purchase with this yearÕs funding:
Grade 1
Dry erase boards on wheels
Student chairs to replace
broken ones
Grade 2
TV cart with electrical
hookup
Grade 5
Requested sharpeners, paper
cutter, etc. which will be ordered from supply budget.
2 drawer file cabinet
4 drawer file
cabinet—Trish K. has an extra.
It will be moved up to grade 5 on Monday, Jan. 14.
