Randolph SchoolÕs End of the Week Notes for Jan. 18, 2008
Celebrations!
Happy Birthday to Joleen Reigert on January 28!
Please note.
1. ItÕs time to
nominate the super stars among us for the Gold Star recognition sponsored by
the Foundation for Lincoln Public Schools. The letter from the Foundation
indicates: ÒWe would like you to
select two ÔstarsÕ who represent the diversity and excellence which occurs in
your building such as: special
contributions, citizenship, leadership, special talents or skills, academic
achievement or a positive role model.
We want the Gold Star Salute to be a student-oriented event that
recognizes ÔstarÕ staff as well.Ó
Please let Dr. B. know your nominees by February 8st.
2. To help make a
smooth transition to Randolph for those students joining us from Hawthorne
School, weÕre offering tours of the school at 6:30 p.m. before the Feb. 5 and
March 4 PTA meetings. I need two
or three adult volunteers who will help student ambassadors give the
tours. Please call the office to
let Dr. B. know if you will help.
Thanks!
Curriculum and Instruction
ÒAn Evening With the ArtsÓ is the theme of the next PrincipalÕs
Parent Forum on Thursday, February 21beginning at 7:00 p.m. Our Expressive Arts teachers, Ms.
Mattley, Ms. Kuhl, Mr. Wheeler, and Mrs. VonKaenel will each present their
curriculum and demonstrate the implementation of that curriculum by teaching a
lesson for parents. Please plan to
attend. Child care is
available. RSVP to the office at
436-1163.
Student Information
During the second quarter of this year, 59 students (14%) had
perfect attendance and 119 students (28%) earned good attendance!
Goodbye to Britnee & Levi who are going to Everett School and
to Keyshaun who is going to Elliott School.
Hello to fifth grader Nicole C., joining us from Sacred Heaart
School.
Teachers: I have
reviewed studentsÕ absences and tardies for the first semester and will be
contacting you about which students will have an attendance summary included in
their report card. If you already
know of someone whose parents need this information, please ask Marcell to run
the report. When the attendance
sheet is included in the report card, there must be a corresponding comment on
the report card about how these absences and/or tardies are effecting the
studentsÕ achievement.
