Randolph SchoolÕs End of the Week Notes for November 2, 2007
Celebrations!
Students had excellent attendance for the first quarter! 27% had PERFECT attendance and 27% had
good attendance, missing less than one day of school! Congratulations, students and families!
The top salespeople for the PTA Fall Fundraiser were Hannah Dennis
in grade 3 and Brittany Loschen in grade 5 who sold 100 items each! Congratulations, Hannah and Brittany!
Mrs. WiedmanÕs Fifth Grade Class earned the 5 pound chocolate bar
for being the class with the highest total sales. Congratulations, Fifth Graders!

Special thanks to Kiran Bahl for her work with special needs
students. Other responsibilities
will take her away from school for a leave of absence, but we look forward to
her return to Randolph and her continued fine support for students, and
collaboration with staff. Best

PTA note
Please plan to attend PTA on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. in the
gym. The program includes a
presentation by Brooke Levey on the development of natural playspaces, and a
proposal to apply for a grant to fund more trees, shrubs, and natural play
areas on our playground. Our media
specialist Chris Haeffner will present information on ÒJust the Right BookÓ for
student readers, as well as give a preview of the Nov. 13 special ÒDinner and a
Book NightÓ.
Dinner and A Book Night will be Tuesday,
Nov. 13 from 5:30-7:30. The Book Fair will be open in the
Media Center until 7:30.
ValentinoÕs pizza, breadstick, and pop will be
available 5:30- 7:00 for only $2.00 per serving.
Families will be able to ÒBuild A BookÓ in the gym for a
nominal fee. All the
writing/drawing implements as well as craft items will be provided along with
the spiral bound blank book you and your child get to write and
illustrate. This part runs from
6-7:30 p.m. in the gym.
Tish Rezac will present parent sessions on helping young readers.
Celebrity Readers will be reading entertaining stories at
sites around the school from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Meetings Notes
The first meeting of the PrincipalÕs Parent Forum was held on
Thursday, Oct. 18 at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Twenty four parents of Randolph students attended. The participants met in groups of 6 and
listed the topics theyÕd like to learn more about over the next four
meetings. (See the complete list
following these notes. The number
beside each topic is the number of votes each topics received when the parents
each were given three votes for their top or most important topic to cover.) The next meeting of the PrincipalÕs
Parent Forum will be on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m. in the gym. Child care is provided by PTA, and the
children meet in the media center.
Please feel free to invite other Randolph families to attend with
you.
